Nic Ashman

Nic Ashman has been a librarian at Chippewa Valley Technical College for over 11 years, embracing numerous roles and supporting the use of Open Educational Resources as a part of CVTC Library, Open RN, and WisTech Open initiatives. Nic has dedicated a career to fostering open (and free) access to knowledge and promoting student-centered learning. Nic, holding a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, is committed to community involvement, focusing on cultivating experiences, fostering connections, and making a tangible impact beyond books. Nic is entering her ninth year as an alternative placement provider for children and teens in need and currently serves as a long-time, elected steering committee member of the Historic Randall Park Neighborhood Association.
