🏫 Over 60 colleges and universities across the U.S. and Canada have adopted print versions of Open RN nursing textbooks.
📚 The full Open RN textbook series continues to be available and widely used.
🆕 A new OER textbook, Nursing Advanced Skills, was published in April 2023. A print version will be available in August 2023.
🧾 The Nursing Assistant OER textbook (released January 2023) includes over 100 H5P learning activities. The associated Canvas course will be published in Canvas Commons this month.
💊 The 2nd edition of Nursing Pharmacology was aligned with the 2023 NCLEX Test Plan, underwent national peer review, and is set to be released online in August 2023.
🩺 The 2nd editions of Nursing Skills and Nursing Fundamentals are in development. Both will be aligned with the 2023 NCLEX Test Plan and include Next Generation-style questions and case studies.
🧠 A new textbook, Nursing Health Alterations, is being developed for WTCS course 543-105. If adopted statewide, it could impact 5,900 students and save over $1.18 million annually.
🔤 The 2nd edition of Medical Terminology is being revised with updated formatting and feedback. The first edition is already in use. The second edition is expected by March 2024, with estimated annual savings of $877,000 for over 8,600 students.
⚙️ The ADAPT Platform was customized to include NCLEX Next Generation-style questions. These are integrated into LMS courses and available for anonymous student practice.
🤖 The Instructional Technologist created AI-enhanced virtual simulations using H5P branching scenarios. These include video, narration, and clinical decision points. Simulations released this quarter:

📘 A manuscript on using OER as an equity strategy was accepted for publication in Nursing Education Perspectives (Special Edition on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion).
🎤 Open RN presented at the MHEC Executive Committee Annual Convening with higher ed leaders and policymakers.
