Position Overview: Editors lead the development of assigned open textbooks, ensuring cohesive voice, structure, and clarity. They coordinate teams and guide the creation, review, and refinement of high-quality, openly licensed learning resources.
Key Responsibilities: Lead textbook development and ensure a unified voice. Recruit and coordinate faculty, authors, and reviewers. Facilitate WTCS workgroup and advisory committee meetings. Revise content based on feedback. Collaborate with librarians and instructional designers. Share updates with stakeholders. Pilot the resource in classrooms.
Qualifications: WTCS faculty, dean, or partner in a related discipline; OER 101 preferred
Compensation: $1,000 per competency (shared if co-editing)
Recognition: Front cover and preface credit
Meeting Participation: 1–3 meetings/month
Position Overview: Developing Authors write textbook content aligned to WTCS curriculum, ensuring instructional integrity and accessibility. They work collaboratively with Editors and Designers to build engaging and accurate learning materials.
Key Responsibilities: Author content for assigned competencies or chapters. Align content with WTCS curriculum and templates. Collaborate on learning activities and assessments. Revise drafts based on feedback.
Qualifications: WTCS faculty or subject matter expert; OER 101 preferred
Compensation: $2,000 per authored competency (may vary)
Recognition: Preface and contributor section credit
Meeting Participation: As needed
Position Overview: Faculty Workgroup Members review and provide feedback on draft content to ensure clarity, alignment, and instructional quality.

Position Overview: Chapter Reviewers offer detailed feedback on individual chapters, helping refine clarity, alignment, and instructional effectiveness.

Position Overview: Instructional Designers apply pedagogy, accessibility standards, and digital tools to develop engaging, inclusive learning materials. Experience with generative AI is increasingly essential.
Key Responsibilities: Design activities and course shells. Ensure UDL and accessibility. Integrate generative AI tools where appropriate. Collaborate with team on pedagogy and design.

Position Overview: OER 101 Facilitators provide professional development to introduce the fundamentals of OER and support institutional adoption.

Audiobook Developer Position Overview: Audiobook Developers ensure the quality and clarity of AI-generated textbook narration by reviewing for proper pronunciation, pacing, and tone. They also check that punctuation and phrasing reflect the written content accurately.
Key Responsibilities: Review AI-generated narration for accuracy and fluency. Ensure correct pronunciation, pacing, and tone. Check that spoken delivery reflects punctuation and meaning. Collaborate with Editors to address inconsistencies.
