Bio
Jon serves as the Director of Teaching and Learning Resources at Blackhawk Technical College where he oversees the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning and the Student Success Center (which includes ABE/GED/ELL and learning support instruction, tutoring, a Testing Center, and a Library). Over his 17 years in higher education, he has been a regular presenter at OLC, CRLA, and ICLCA conferences. Jon is a past president of the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) where he served in varying leadership roles for eleven years; he now serves as a representative to CAS, the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education. He was the recipient of the 2025 Robert Griffin award from CRLA, and was recognized in two separate years for the Innovative Use of Technology award from the International College Learning Center Association (ICLCA). He holds a Master’s in English-Literature from DePaul University and lifetime Learning Center Leadership Certification from ICLCA.
