Bright Beginnings was launched in 2023 with funding from the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) and expanded in 2025 and 2026 through additional state support and the U.S. Department of Education’s Open Textbook Pilot grant. Developed by WTCS faculty, the project provides open textbooks and instructional resources aligned with Wisconsin’s statewide early childhood education curriculum and relevant Department of Public Instruction requirements.

Textbooks undergo national peer review by faculty, deans, industry members, and early childhood education students to ensure the content is accurate and relevant, written in clear language, and based on current practices and regulations.
