Contemporary Healthcare Practices

Bio
I earned my bachelor degree from University Wisconsin-Milwaukee and continued my education majoring in Ophthalmology. I worked in the field of optometry for 15 years prior to joining the Milwaukee Area Technical College.
I was a part-time instructor for the Opticianry Science program in January, 1999, and moved to full-time in January of 2001. I was the program coordinator for that program for seventeen years.
In 2018 I became the program coordinator for the Healthcare Customer Service Certificate and In 2020 the Lead faculty for the Healthcare Customer Service Certificate program. I also support the Dual Enrollment department, as a liaison for high school students taking Health 101,104 and 107 courses. This role includes mentoring high school instructors teaching college health courses. I also was part of the committee that developed the dual enrollment manual.
I was part of the team that developed the Health 101 Medical Terminology OER, helping create test banks. I also voiced the pronunciation portion of the flashcards and reviewed content for errors. I have contributed to the second edition of the Health 101 OER as a peer reviewer.
