Learning Objects

Environmental Protection

Dive into Wisc-Online’s rich collection of learning objects — bite-sized, interactive, and designed for real learning. These modular digital tools include animations, drag-and-drop exercises, quizzes, videos, and more. You can explore topics across STEM, arts, humanities, career skills, and beyond. Each learning object is crafted to help learners actively engage with content—reviewing, applying, self-checking—in a way that’s flexible and self-paced.

Why Wisc-Online Moved to WisTech Open

In January 2026, Wisc-Online transitioned to WisTech Open to better align with current educational standards and long-term goals. During this process, the catalog was reviewed and content that did not meet accessibility requirements or was outdated was removed. Games were also taken down, and the team is evaluating the possibility of adding them back in the future with accessibility and quality standards in mind.

Learning Object
Changes in Our World: Chemical and Physical (Screencast)
In this screencast, learners examine the kinds of physical and chemical changes that occur in substances.
Common Types of Oxidation-Reduction Reactions (Screencast)
Learners identify combination, decomposition, displacement, and combustion types of redox reactions. They also watch a video clip that demonstrates the reaction of sodium and water.
Golder Finches Get the Girls
Explore how a goldfinch interacts with its environment and how it's affected by environmental changes. Music Credit:Title: Good StartsArtist: Jingle PunksGenre: CinematicMood: HappyDownload: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/...
How Pressure Changes Boiling Temperature
Learners study the effect that pressure has on boiling temperatures. Once a liquid has reached a full boil, additional heat does not raise the liquid’s temperature; however, pressure can vary the boiling point of a liquid. A brief quiz completes the activity.
Humidity Measurements
Learners examine dew point and the two types of humidity values, absolute and relative, along with the types of instruments used to measure them. The activity includes a video clip and a quiz.
Hydrostatic Pressure (Screencast)
In this animated object, learners read about hydrostatic pressure and observe how it is used to measure the level of a material in a container.
Industrial Control Classifications
In this animated object, learners examine automated manufacturing systems classified as motion control, batch process control, and continuous process control.

Lewis Dot Structures of Covalent Compounds
In this interactive and animated object, students distribute the valence electrons in simple covalent molecules with one central atom. Six rules are followed to show the bonding and nonbonding electrons in Lewis dot structures. The process is well illustrated with eight worked examples and two interactive practice problems.
Methods of Producing Electricity
In this learning activity you'll review the six different ways in which electricity is produced: chemical, friction, heat, light, magnetism, and pressure.
