Bio
With over 15 years of experience working in EMS, Mitch has been a volunteer EMT, AEMT, full-time paramedic, and has worked in critical care services. He was a lead EMS instructor for 8 years at the Milwaukee County Office of Emergency Management, the UW Health Emergency Education Center, and is now a lead EMS instructor for Moraine Park Technical College. His primary focus is on teaching, developing EMS curriculum, and pursuing EMS research opportunities.
He earned his Master of Science in EMS from Creighton University and his undergraduate from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, with majors in biology (biomedical concentration), microbiology (biomedical concentration), and biochemistry. He also holds an associate’s degree in paramedicine from Western Technical College. In his free time, he works on the dissertation for his doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction at UW-Madison. Throughout his work, he consistently trains EMS students to the highest levels of critical thinking and promotes them to question “why” to further advance the EMS field.
