Bio
Kim is a certified nurse educator who is passionate about creating quality OER textbooks and virtual simulations to help nursing students successfully pass their national licensure examination and develop safe clinical judgment. She led the Open Resources for Nursing (Open RN) project that was funded by a $2.5 million grant from the Department of Education, and along with other funding sources, has helped develop and edit 15 nursing OER textbooks and dozens of virtual simulations. Three OER textbooks won the “Best OER Award” from OE Global in 2020 and 2021. She has extensively presented at several conferences, including National League for Nursing Educational Summit, International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH), International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL), Wisconsin League of Nursing, Achieve the Dream, OpenEd, and OE Global. She has co-authored two articles entitled, the “Impact of Interprofessional Education on Nursing Students’ Attitudes Toward Teamwork and Collaboration with Physicians” in the Journal of Nursing Education and “Adopting Open Educational Resources as an Equity Strategy” in Nursing Education Perspectives.
